Refreshing renovation

This beautiful Australian federation-style home required an internal refresh and expansion to support the owners’ modern lifestyle. Through curated updates and renovations, the aim was to create the forever home they’d been searching for.

The existing structure and heritage features were both preserved to embrace the unique character of the original home. While staying within federation specifications, the existing rooms were refreshed, and a modern living and dining area was added. These additions improved the flow of the floor plan, adding valuable space to support cooking and hosting endeavours. Along with large glass windows and skylights, this area of the home was designed to be bright, welcoming, and warm. Finally, polished concrete flooring with underfloor heating was installed for a modern, minimalist look that combines comfort and practicality. Each addition and renovation was completed using the finest materials to ensure quality, long-lasting finishes.

Designed by Matt Hull from DesignPad Architecture, the entire process was completed on time and within budget, elevating this weathered house into one of the most stunning homes on the street. Through careful, skilled craftsmanship, this forever home perfectly fits its chic Newcastle suburb.
